Kafawin's 'Daisy Devine' Wins Her Third in a Row
February 21, 2012
Daisy Devine, the four-year-old daughter of Kafwain (out of Devil's Dispute, by Devil's Bag) was the winner of last year's GII Fair Grounds Oaks over the main track, has now won three in a row on the turf since taking the Valley View S. GIII at Keeneland last October with latest her victory on the 21st in the $75,000 Mardi Gras H.
The bay filly found herself on the lead going into the first turn and then tracked in second while racing three wide. She moved effortlessly past the pacesetter on the far turn drawing off by 2 1/2 lengths. The filly has now won six races from sixteen starts and $578,349. Owned by James M. Miller; bred by J Reiley McDonald in Kentucky and is trained by Andrew McKeever.
